A Beginner's Guide to the Human Design Chart

Ever wondered why you tick the way you do? Why certain decisions feel effortless, while others leave you drained? Human Design, a fascinating blend of astrology, the I Ching, and Kabbalah, might hold the answer.

But where do you begin? Don't worry, understanding your unique blueprint may seem confusing at first, but it isn't rocket science. And I’m here to guide you through all of the parts of your chart and beyond.

So let’s get started.

Step 1: Chart Check-In

First things first, grab your chart! Use the navigation member to hop on over and get Your Human Desing Chart, and pop in your birth details. Once you have your chart, it should look similar to the image above. Don't sweat the intricate symbols; we'll break them down together.

Step 2: The 9 Centers of You

Imagine your chart as a map of your energetic landscape. The nine colored centers represent different aspects of your being, like your identity, emotions, and intuition. Colored centers are "defined," meaning you have a fixed energy in that area. “Undefined” centers (white) are more open to external influences.

Step 3: Your Channels and Gates

The lines connecting these centers are channels, representing life themes. Defined channels amplify the energy of their connected centers, like turning up the volume on your inner rockstar. Each center further unfolds into numbered gates, holding the keys to your strengths, challenges, and deepest motivations. There are 64 gates in total. And while we all have the same gates shown on our charts, where they are defined and undefined is based on the individual. Just like the centers.

Exploring these gates unlocks deeper insights into your strengths, challenges, and motivations.

Step 4: Discovering Your Aura Type

The combination of defined and undefined centers in your chart is what determines your "type" , and determines your core strategy for navigating life. There are five aura types in human design: Generators, Manifestors, Manifesting Generators, Projectors, and Reflectors. Each type has its unique energetic flow and decision-making process.

The details on the side, or directly below your bodygraph will tell you what your specific aura type is.

Step 5: Strategy & Authority

Human Design goes beyond "types." It equips you with an internal GPS – your "Inner Authority." This could be your gut feeling, intuition, or a combination, guiding you towards aligned decisions. Honing this skill is like calibrating your inner compass, leading you to a life that feels perfectly in tune.

Human Design goes beyond just personality descriptions. It offers personalized guidance through your "Inner Authority," an internal compass that helps you make aligned decisions. This could be one of seven possible authorities such as your Sacral response (a gut feeling), your Spleen (intuition), or your solar plexus (emotions). Following your authority is key to living in harmony with your design.

How do you know your inner authority? Use your chart as your guide. Just as with type and the easy identification of your defined gates, your chart will provide this information to you.
