The One Person I Can't Read

I can read almost anyone within minutes of meeting them.

Thanks how the Projector aura works. Designed to know a person necessarily even having had a conversation with them. It's just how my aura works. I take people in.

I can see the truth of them. How they fit within the collective, what they their next move is. I can sit across from you at the dinner table and I'll see something about you that you haven't fully named to yourself.

It’s kind of intrusive really.

But that’s why we’re also designed to wait for an invitation. Before seeing, before sharing. It’s really in all of our bet interest.

But there's one person my aura has difficulty seeing.

Me.

That’s the conundrum

I have this penetrating aura, designed to see people better than they see themselves. But I can’t turn it on myself.

It's a strange really. To build a business based on seeing people clearly and still spend years unable to see your own life the same way. I've sat with clients and known their next best step within minutes of speaking with them. But when it comes to my own clarity, comes more slowly.

A Projector's aura is built to penetrate outward. It was never built to reflect back on itself. Which means the clarity I hand other people all day has to come from somewhere else when it's my turn.

Usually, it comes from being seen.

What Happened With Sophie

I was again reminded of this when I sat down with Sophie Campise on her podcast Ren: Behind the Practice.

During our conversation I explained how I’d felt I’d been inconsistent. Social media marketing, courses, a podcast, a blog, Pinterest, workshops, pitching articles. Experimenting with it all, sticking with nothing. Inconsistent.

And Sophie was having none of it.

What I'd been calling inconsistency, she reminded me was textbook experimentation. Trial and error, testing pieces to find the combination that would finally hold.

What I had defined within myself as being scattered, she named as searching.

That’s what I mean by being unable to really see yourself as a Projector.

Even after doing this work for years, I didn't arrive at that on my own. I got there because someone else looked at me the way I look at other people, all day, every day, and handed it back.

Why This Matters Beyond Myself

If you're a Projector, this may bring up a familiar feeling in you as well.

The advice giving, the clarity you have for everyone but yourself, the way some areas of your own life may stay foggy while everyone else's comes into focus the moment you move into their energy.

And you're not a Projector, it all still matters.

Because the deeper truth underneath all of this isn't really about aura type. It's about how rarely clarity comes from more thinking. It tends to come from being reflected. Often by someone else saying the thing you've circled for years, out loud, in language that finally lands in a way your authority can recognize.

You can't always give that to yourself. But that’s okay, because we’re all meant to connect with and support each other.

Sophie gave that to me in a 30 minutes, on a podcast, without either of us planning for it to happen.

Imagine what we could come to together in a focused 60 minute coaching session.

What's Next

Because you've been circling your own version of this, the story you keep telling yourself that might not be the true one, The Rewrite is built for exactly that kind of reflection. Ten weeks, working with your actual design instead of against it, to find the clarity that thinking your way through it never gave you.
