Why Pricing Feels So Hard (And What Your Human Design Says About It)

Here’s the Podcast!
Ready to get into it?
You've created something you're proud of. You know it's valuable. You've seen the transformation it creates.
But when it's time to put a price on it… your stomach drops. Your mind races. You’re second-guessing everything.
You look at what everyone else is charging. Calculate your hours. Wonder if you're asking for too much. So you lower the price. Then you resent it. Then you raise it again and feel guilty.
You're stuck in a loop of pricing anxiety that makes you want to avoid the whole thing entirely.
Sound familiar?
What You Need to Know
What most people don't understand about pricing is that the discomfort you feel isn't about the number. It's about your energy around it.
Money is an energy exchange.
When someone pays you, they're not just handing over cash, they're exchanging their energy (the time and effort it took to earn that money) for your energy (your time, expertise, and transformation you provide).
And if you're not pricing in a way that honors your energetic design, you'll always feel off.
Too high and you feel guilty. Too low and you resent it. Either way, something doesn't sit right.
That feeling is your body telling you that the price isn't aligned with how you're designed to operate.
The Problem With "Standard" Pricing Advice
The business world loves one-size-fits-all pricing formulas.
We’re told to charge based on value, or charge what we’re worth. We’re told to look at industry standards. Calculate your time, plus expenses, plus profit margin.
None of this accounts for the fact that different energy types need different things from the exchange.
This shows up as:
Generators pricing too low because they love the work so much they forget to value their energy properly.
Projectors burning out because they price for quantity instead of quality, and end up overworking to make ends meet.
Manifestors feeling trapped by pricing that requires them to be constantly available or "on".
Reflectors feeling overwhelmed by rigid pricing structures that don't account for their variable energy.
The standard advice doesn't work because it ignores the fundamental truth that your energy type determines what kind of exchange feels good to you.
How Each Type Should Approach Pricing
Generators
You have sustainable energy for work you love. Your pricing can support volume because you're designed for it.
Trust your sacral response. Write down a price and check in with your gut for a clear "uh-huh" yes or "uh-uh" no. Notice where you're undercharging because the work feels so satisfying, you forget it's still an energy exchange.
Manifesting Generators
Like Generators, you have sustainable energy and can test and iterate. Your sacral will guide you to what feels right.
You're designed to do multiple things efficiently and pivot quickly. Your pricing can reflect both your capacity for volume and your ability to create faster results. Don't undercharge just because you enjoy the variety or because transformation happens quickly for you.
Projectors
Price for quality over quantity. You're designed for efficiency and deep impact, not high volume.
Your pricing needs to support working with fewer people for longer periods. Stop trying to compete on volume, that's not your game.
Manifestors
Your energy comes in bursts. Price in a way that gives you freedom and doesn't require constant availability.
Retainers, packages, and container-based pricing often work better than hourly because they honor your initiating energy without demanding constant output.
Reflectors
You need flexibility. Your energy changes with the lunar cycle, so rigid pricing structures that demand the same output every week won't feel good.
Consider pricing that allows for natural rhythms. Monthly packages, flexible containers, or offerings that don't require you to show up the same way every single time.
The Integration: Finding Your Aligned Price Point
In this week's episode, I walk you through exactly how to price in a way that honors your energy type and creates sustainable abundance.
If I could leave you with one piece of wisdom, it would be that aligned pricing creates an energy exchange that feels good, for both you and your client. It’s about more than just making enough money to cover your costs or match the market.
So have fun with it. Play around. When the price is right, everyone wins. Your client receives their transformation. You receive compensation that honors your energy. And, nobody walks away feeling resentful, frustrated, or guilty.
That's what aligned pricing looks like.
The Three-Part Framework for Aligned Pricing
Part 1: Understand Your Energetic Capacity
Start with an honest assessment:
How many clients can you realistically serve without burning out?
How much energy does this work actually require from you?
If you're a Projector serving 20 clients a month, that's probably why you're exhausted. The number isn't sustainable for your design.
Part 2: Price for Your Capacity, Not the Market's Expectations
Once you know your realistic capacity, price accordingly. If you can sustainably serve 5 clients a month, your pricing needs to reflect that. Remember, you’re building a business designed for you. So you’re not going to charge the same as someone who can serve 30 clients will charge.
Part 3: Check Your Body's Response
When you think about your price, what happens in your body?
Tightness and pressure? That’s your body signaling that something is off, and you're probably pricing too low.
Guilt and contraction? You might be pricing higher than your nervous system is ready for, or you're pricing from comparison instead of alignment.
Openness and ease? That's your body saying “Yes”. That price honors the exchange.
Try This: The Energy Alignment Pricing Check
Before you move on from this post, think about something you currently offer.
Ask yourself these three questions:
At this price, do I feel excited to deliver this work, or do I feel resentful?
Does this price allow me to serve at my energetic capacity, or am I overextending to make it work?
When I imagine receiving this payment, does my body feel open or contracted?
Your answers will tell you everything you need to know about whether your pricing is aligned.
If you feel resentment, pressure, or contraction, something's off. And usually it's not that you're charging too much, it's that you're not charging enough for your energy type's needs.
What to Expect When You Start Pricing Aligned
When you start pricing in alignment with your energy instead of market expectations, you might feel some resistance.
Your nervous system might freak out when you raise your prices. Old stories about worthiness will come up loud. You might worry that nobody will pay it.
Some people won't. And that's exactly right.
When you make the shift to aligned pricing, the goal is to focus on serving the right people. The ones who value what you bring and are ready for the exchange.
You may lose what seemed like opportunities. But you’ll also stop attracting people who weren't the right fit anyway. Just remember that what's for you can’t miss you, and what you'll gain is so much better.
What's Waiting on the Other Side
When you price in alignment with your energetic design, everything shifts:
Clarity on who you're meant to serve and what you're meant to offer
Energy because you're not saying yes to the wrong relationships or overworking to compensate for underpricing
Confidence in your offers because the exchange feels right
Clients who value you because your price attracts people ready for transformation
Sustainable income that doesn't require you to burn out to earn it
Freedom to do your best work at a pace that feels good, without resentment
And honestly? It's worth every bit of discomfort to get there.
The Permission You've Been Waiting For
You have permission to price for your energy type's needs, not the market's expectations.
You have permission to charge more and serve fewer people.
You have permission to say no to opportunities that don't honor your energetic capacity.
Aligned pricing isn't selfish. It's sustainable. And it's the only way to build a business that doesn't burn you out.
